How it was made

The last house on Ravensbury Street

We started filming in 2021 expecting a six-month shoot about a regeneration scheme. It became a three-year film about the machinery of compulsory purchase and what it does to people who cannot afford a solicitor.

The council declined to be interviewed eleven times. We say so in the film rather than implying it, and we published the correspondence alongside the release.

It is the only film we have made that has changed a policy — the authority revised its rehousing protocol four months after broadcast.
