Two commissions for 2027
Kestrel Four has commissioned a feature documentary from Rosa Linden, shooting from October, and a three-part series from Nell Kavanagh for delivery in early 2028. Both are in the North West and both are, in different ways, about housing.
It is the first time we have had two things in production at once, which means we are hiring a second producer. That advertisement goes up in September.

No Standing Count takes the Wharf Prize
Our boxing film won the Wharf Prize for a first feature and picked up a special mention for editing at Sheffield Reach. Sam Iqbal cut it in eleven weeks from 240 hours.
The subject came to the ceremony and made a considerably better speech than we did.

The Back Room interviews go to the city archive
All thirty-one unedited interviews from The Back Room are now lodged with the city archive and open to the public, with the consent of every contributor or their family.
The series used about four hours of roughly sixty. The rest is a better historical record than the programme is, and it should not sit on a drive in Ancoats.
